United Airlines and JetBlue Airways have activated the next phase of their Blue Sky partnership, allowing travelers to book many of each carrier’s flights directly on either airline’s website or mobile app using cash, miles, or points. The new feature, announced on February 10, 2026, allows customers on United.com or the United app to book eligible JetBlue-operated flights, while customers on JetBlue.com or the JetBlue app can book eligible United-operated flights.
The airlines describe this as the “next major customer benefit” in Blue Sky, which launched loyalty earning and redemption across both carriers in October 2025 and now extends the partnership into day-to-day revenue booking. The cash-booking rollout began this month and will expand in phases as more itineraries appear in each airline’s search results.
How The New Blue Sky Booking Feature Works
Travelers will now see select JetBlue routes available for purchase on United’s platforms and select United routes available on JetBlue’s platforms, with both airlines keeping control of their own pricing and fare rules. The latest step builds on the October 2025 launch of reciprocal earning and redemption, when Blue Sky first allowed MileagePlus and TrueBlue members to earn and redeem rewards on flights on both airlines. That phase focused on loyalty, while the current update extends the cooperation into standard revenue sales on each carrier’s digital channels.
The cross-booking feature applies to “eligible itineraries,” which the airlines say will appear more widely as the rollout progresses. When customers search for flights, United’s tools will surface selected JetBlue-operated services, and JetBlue’s tools will surface selected United-operated services. Customers can then pay in cash or, on eligible flights, redeem MileagePlus miles when booking through United or TrueBlue points when booking through JetBlue.
United executive vice president and chief commercial officer Andrew Nocella said the update “is another proof point of the value Blue Sky is bringing customers — in giving them the ability to book with cash, miles, or points on either network, customers now have more choice, flexibility, and a better overall booking experience when traveling to their favorite destinations.”
What Comes Next For The Blue Sky Partnership
The cash-booking expansion forms part of a wider Blue Sky roadmap that runs through 2026 and 2027. Earlier communications from the airlines state that reciprocal elite perks are planned for MileagePlus Premier and JetBlue Mosaic members, including priority boarding and access to preferred or extra-legroom seating, with rollout targeted for spring 2026.
Later in 2026, United’s MileagePlus Travel platform is scheduled to migrate to JetBlue’s trip-management technology, expanding options for booking hotels, rental cars, cruises, and other travel products linked to the partnership. Reuters reports that JetBlue plans to provide United with access to up to seven daily round-trip slots at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport from early 2027, while the airlines also coordinate certain timings at Newark Liberty International Airport.
For now, the most immediate change for travelers is visible in the booking path. United and JetBlue customers can take advantage of cross-booking on a single familiar platform, as Blue Sky shifts from a loyalty-only link to a partnership that also shapes how everyday ticket sales appear online.
