Debuting in June 2027, Pan American World Airways, iconically known as “Pan Am,” is taking 12 guests on a 19-day African safari experience across four countries in the Southern part of the continent.
The revered classic American airline announced the news in late October. According to Travel And Tour World, the venture will be a chartered “Sky to Safari” experience. Pan Am details that the affair will be conducted as a partnership between it and SafariScapes, a tour operator that specializes in experiences in South Africa.
Travelers on the Sky to Safari adventure will depart from New York. Notably, Pan Am’s former flagship flight hub is New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. The first stop of the experience will be in Tanzania’s Central Serengeti, where guests will spend three days. After that, they’ll be whisked to a two-night stint in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
The tour’s third stop will be a six-night stay in Botswana’s Okavango Delta. This portion of the tour will be a true highlight for the trip’s nature enthusiasts, as it includes “twice-daily safari excursions by boat or game drive.” Moreover, guests will have the option to additionally go on a picturesque helicopter ride, enjoy “guided walks and photography tours,” and experience being in a traditional mokoro canoe.
Stop four will be in Johannesburg, South Africa, and will be a short overnight stay. Then, travelers will embark on a luxe three-day Rovos Rail ride to Cape Town. The last stop of the tour in the latter location will be a three-day stay, including a full-day Cape Peninsula tour, a day exploring the Cape Winelands, and a farewell dinner.
What Else Is There To Know About Pan Am’s Sky To Safari Offering?
Four SafariScapes hosts will join the guests on their 19-day excursion. There will also be a photographer and videographer capturing all the adventures. Other outlined highlights of the tour include bush dinners, visiting Serengeti National Park, and a “sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.”
The Sky to Safari experience will include high-end, luxury accommodations, as well as cover the costs of guests’ transportation transfers, entry permits, luggage service, and gratuities to handlers, guides, and hotel staff. Some of the stunning properties guests will stay at include the Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, the Wilderness Vumbura Plains and DumaTa destinations, and the Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff.
Regarding travelers’ Pan Am flight experience, they can anticipate white-glove service, fine dining, and navigating airports with “VIP service.”
Pan Am hasn’t disclosed the exact dates in 2027 when its Sky to Safari experience will occur. However, regarding the experience, it says, “Across the wild heart of Africa, the golden age of exploration comes alive again.”
