The Rosewood Hong Kong was just named the world’s best hotel, thanks to the scale and intentionality of its approach to luxury hospitality.
World’s 50 Best Hotels crowned the Hong Kong property with the No. 1 placement in late October. The 2025 title follows two years of the Rosewood Hong Kong being ranked in the top three, but not in the top spot. The soaring 65-story building overlooks Victoria Harbour and has 413 rooms and suites with city or water views.
The Rosewood Hong Kong is also home to top-of-the-line wellness facilities, daily fitness classes, an indulgent spa, and a tour-worthy collection of on-site artwork. A paradise of cuisine and cocktails, there are also 11 options for dining and drinking. Notably, the Michelin Guide has also awarded the hotel three of its coveted keys, being the highest distinction a hotel can receive from the dining and hospitality authority.
“In a city packed with skyscrapers and luxury hotels, Rosewood Hong Kong is a step above. Opened in 2019 as the flagship property of the ever-expanding Asian hotel group, the hotel has become a beacon of modern Asian minimalist hospitality thanks primarily to one key factor: scale,” says the World’s 50 Best Hotels. “While Hong Kong is no stranger to ultra-luxury accommodation, none can match Rosewood’s ability to deliver all-out hospitality for as many guests concurrently…”
What Else Is There To Know About The 2025 World’s 50 Best Hotels List?
Led by the Rosewood Hong Kong list-topper, Asia dominated this year’s ranking, with a noteworthy 20 properties spotlighted for their excellence in the hotel industry. Tokyo had four hotels on the list, whereas Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Dubai each had three. Notably, London, in the United Kingdom, also had four properties on the list — a plus for travelers to and in Europe. The U.K. and Japan had five properties on the list, while Mexico, France, and Italy each had four. Of Mexico’s four was the One&Only Mandarina, a luxe resort that model Lori Harvey tagged on Instagram as her “quick intermission” spot back in September.
One of the more exciting elements of the 2025 World’s 50 Best Hotels list is that it included 20 new entries. Among the new additions are New York City’s The Mark, Las Ventanas al Paraíso in Los Cabos, Hôtel du Couvent in Nice, the Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab in Dubai, and the over-century-old Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, to name a few. Additionally, the Four Seasons won this year’s Ferrari Trento Most Admired Hotel Group Award, and had seven properties on the whole World’s 100 Best Hotels list.
